Montana Fly Fishing: Brown's Lake...

Lead-head jigs are a hot item for early spring trout in our lakes and reservoirs...
...though this big rainbow--22 inches--ate a glitzy purple worm...Go figure..
Like me, Terry (left), son, Brian, and Sage did a lot more marching than catching...One excuse is the trout were definitely more interested in each other than eating our flies...
...though we each carried enough bugs to fuel an army we never did find "the" one...
...and I suppose one might argue our pack a fish dogs  certainly didn't  help...But  Brown's is a pretty little lake sitting as it does at the foot of the Scapegoat Wilderness (Bob Marshall wilderness complex) with only a  nifty Yurt and a couple camp trailers to spoil the view. Hundreds ducks and a big flock snow geese, good country, good companions, as I say, who needs a bunch a slimy ol' trout anyways...
